Coolmore set to strike at Navan
IRISH PREVIEW Claire Barry

RACING takes place at both Navan and Listowel today, but it is very much run-ofthe mill stuff. There could, however, be a few useful types amongst the runners, notably from the Aidan O'Brien, Dermot Weld and John Oxx camps.

The O'Brien-trained C'Mon Tiger makes his racecourse debut under Seamus Heffernan in the Coolmore Footstepsinthesand EBF 3Y-O Maiden, and this colt is certainly bred in the purple.

He is a half-brother to dual Breeders' Cup hero Tiznow, who claimed the scalps of Giant's Causeway and Sakhee on those occasions.

While C'mon Tiger can be expected to improve considerably from the run, it will surely take an above-average performer to beat him. The more experienced Film Festival, from the John Oxx stable, and Dermot Weld's newcomer Silent Confession are the ones likely to pose the biggest dangers to him.

C'Mon Tiger's stable-companion Born For Glory makes his seasonal reappearance in the Coolmore Antonius Pius Race, a race in which O'Brien is also represented by Road To Mandalay, the mount of Colm O'Donoghue. Preference, however, is for the John Oxx-trained Zarwala, who was successful on her only start at Limerick last Friday.

Kevin Prendergast's representative Fabrigas would appear to hold all the aces in the Lynn Lodge EBF Median Auction Maiden, while Prendergast and his stable jockey Declan McDonogh have a good chance of doubling up with Tamazug in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Race over a mile and a quarter.

Meanwhile, at Listowel, the meeting kicks off with three flat races, where last season's champion apprentice Catherine Gannon will be fancied to collect with Tara's Wisdom in the opening Croom House Stud 2-Y-O Maiden.

She also rides Mandara for her boss John Oxx in the Ballybunion Median Auction Maiden, but Financial Reward, from the Willie Mullins stable, is the one that appeals here to gain an overdue win.

The NH brigade is well catered for in the remaining races, and trainer Michael Hourigan will be hoping that Vic Ville can go one better in the ERA Horgan Properties Chase. Trainer Kevin O'Brien will also fancy his chances with Seagull Eile and Ruby Walsh in the Jackie & Gene Handicap Hurdle.
