ALBERTINELLI, from the Aidan O'Brien stable, made it two wins from as many outings with a comfortable victory under Seamus Heffernan in the Athlumney Race at Navan yesterday.
Sent off the 2/7 favourite, the Danehill colt was sent about his business just outside the two furlong pole, and only had to be pushed out in the colours of Michael Tabor to contain the effort of Voliere.
The Con Collins-trained King Of Swords, with Willie Supple in the saddle, ran out the two and a half length winner of the Country Allstars Maiden. The trainer's daughter, and assistant, Tracy commented "He goes on all types of ground, and the plan is to run him in a listed race at Goodwood at the end of next month. He could run somewhere else in between time."
There was a dead-heat in the Fiddlers Bow Handicap between the Michael Kinaneridden Benwilt Breeze, from the Ger Lyons stable, and Michael Halford's Petite Bois, who just got up on the line under Johnny Murtagh to share the spoils.
Meanwhile, at the French track of Auteuil, the Willie Mullins-trained Clear Riposte landed the Grade 1 Prix Alain du Breil 4-Y-O Hurdle in the hands of Dean Gallagher.
Also at Auteuil, Dom D'Orgeval finished fourth behind Mid Dancer in the Grande Course de Haies d'Auteuil.
The Arnaud ChailleChaille-trained winner was maintaining his unbeaten record in France as he powered to success over the Philip Carberry-ridden Princesse D'Anjou in the French Champion Hurdle.
Eric McNamara's Irish raider Strangely Brown looked set for a place until he was brought down at the last by Rock And Palm, leaving Nick Williams' charge as the leading foreign raider.
