Exclusive homes brought to Brook inCo Wicklow village
June Edwards

SOME very exclusive detached homes went on the market this weekend at Macreddin Village, Co Wicklow. Selling from plans, these top-of-the-range homes are being built on the grounds of Brooklodge Hotel. When completed, the 22 detached houses, priced from 1.45m, will be dotted around the new 18hole championship golf course designed by Ryder Cup golfer Paul McGinley.

Peter Kenny of Colliers Jackson Stops is expecting strong interest. "Anyone who knows the ethos of Macreddin Village and Brooklodge Hotel, where the emphasis is on natural, organic food, will know that the houses here have been designed along the same lines, using eco-friendly materials throughout, " he says.

A very scenic area, Macreddin Valley incorporates 160 acres. All homes will have access to the amenities of Brooklodge Hotel, including the spa and health centre, organic restaurant and bar.

Golf membership is also included with each home.

Three different styles of home are on offer, with the first eight homes available in this phase. All homes on-site are being built by Lindal Cedar Homes. Constructed from kiln-dried western red cedar, extensive glazing in all home designs will ensure lots of natural light.

Houses are very spacious, ranging in size from 262sq m to 405sq m (2,820sq ft to 4,359sq ft).

Cliffside is a two-storey house with a large timber balcony running the entire width of the house at first floor, while downstairs at ground level there is a large deck running from one end of the house to the other. Accommodation includes a kitchen, diningroom, livingroom, familyroom, recreation room, four en-suite bedrooms, utility area and guest bathroom.

The Muskoka is a more traditional style two-storey home, with deep pitched roof, atrium windows and turret-shaped sunroom.

Vista Spring has a slightly Swiss-chalet look, with its triangular-shaped facade and extensive glazing. A spacious home with four en-suite bathrooms, Vista Spring also has a large open-plan kitchen cum diningroom, which opens into a bright livingroom. Off the kitchen there is a utilityroom and guest bathroom.

Price: four-bed detached houses from 1.45 to 1.75m Agent: Colliers Jackson Stops 01-6333700
