OVER 27 million online page requests for the month of May show that property website Daft. ie is Ireland's busiest certified address. It also demonstrates that the internet is the first port of call for those seeking a home.
This is the largest, ABC Electronic-audited, independent figure for any Irish website to date, ahead of highest traffic scores by other well-known internet sites including RTE (22 million, May 2006), Eircom (22 million, January 2006) and MyHome. ie (18 million, October 2005).
Commenting on the independent audit, Eamonn Fallon, director of Daft. ie, said the figures were even more impressive considering the country's relatively small population.
"The company delivers twice as many page impressions per head of population than the biggest online property site in the UK. This is a good indication of how comfortable Irish people have become using the internet to buy, sell or rent property online."
The high figure is also attributed to the fact that Daft. ie has matured from its original incarnation in l997 as the first port of call for students looking for a room to rent, to now assisting users to buy a new home, rent an office or invest in a property abroad.
The next major enhancement to Daft. ie will be available in the autumn and will allow users to search for property in a more interactive and intuitive way.
