Would-be novelists find write stuff in Wicklow
Roisin Carabine

ASPIRING writers looking for a semi-rural location might take an interest in Woodlands, Ashford, in Co Wicklow, say selling agents Lennox Estates. The house comes with a garden studio complete with WC and wired for electricity: the perfect place in which to pen a novel.

Set back off the old main Wicklow road on 0.75 acres of lovingly-tended landscaped gardens, Woodlands offers some 120sq m (1,300sq ft) of space. The accommodation includes a lounge with ornate period-style feature fireplace and dining room. The kitchen has ample wall and floor pine units, and double doors lead to a small conservatory.

There are three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The master bedroom is kitted out with louvre fronted built-in wardrobes and has two windows enjoying views of the garden.

Outside there is a gravelled driveway with ample parking for four cars. The pretty garden boasts a variety of trees, shrubs, flowers, two sheds, a lily pond and a natural spring that runs through the grounds.

The property is located within easy reach of Ashford village and is within commuting distance of Dublin via the newly opened N11 motorway.
