MONDAY The government announces details of the plan to float state airline Aer Lingus on the London and Dublin stock exchanges, with a separate share placing to take place in the US.

TUESDAY Building materials group CRH announces a 37% increase in pre-tax profit to 526m. Shares in the company climb 1.6% on the news, adding 23m to the CRH's market value.

WEDNESDAY The Dublin Airport Authority announces plans for a new 75,000 sq ft terminal which will cost 395m and should be operational by 2009, according to DAA chief executive Declan Collier (right).

THURSDAY A report by the Financial Regulator shows car insurance firms posted a 26% increase in pro"t last year. Insurers generated premium income of 31bn last year.

FRIDAY Drinks group C&C issues a trading statement showing first-half sales grew by 25% as soaring temperatures in Britain boosted sales of Magners cider. Sales of Magners and Bulmers, as it is known in Ireland, were up 75% over the period.
