SINN Fein has decided to participate in debates in the Northern Ireland Assembly in a significant change to the party's recent attitude to the body which has been meeting to see how a stable powersharing government can be formed. The decision was taken at a meeting of the party's ard comhairle in Dublin yesterday. Chief negotiator Martin McGuinness said serious misgivings regarding the approach of the Irish and British governments had been expressed at the meeting. He said his party would only engage in talks that genuinely contributed to restoring the Good Friday agreement.
