THEMayo Wheelers cycling club has appealed to members of the public to support next weekend's charity event during which they will cycle to Belfast on a two-day fundraiser for the Irish Association of Suicideology. They will travel from Castlebar to Enniskillen on Saturday before completing the journey on Sunday.
"The number of suicides is on a par with the number of deaths on our roads, " said one of the participants, John Ferguson. "We know the publicity that road deaths get and rightly so, for it is chilling. But the problems of suicide are very rarely recognised."
