Noel Dempsey (left), it seems, doesn't hold the the communications ministry for no reason. He was obviously delighted at the announcement last week that Quinn Direct is to create 700 new jobs in Navan, in his Meath constituency.
The news was formally announced at 11am on Thursday morning. Later that evening, a leaflet from Fianna Fail with photos of Dempsey and four local FF councillors was delivered to householders in Navan with Dempsey claiming particular credit for the investment decision.
They're either particularly speedy printers in Navan or someone had the benefit of insider knowledge.
