LOUGHREA'S Aoife Fitzpatrick (28) repaid her lady captain Patricia O'Hehir with a week's trip to Portugal after winning the Connacht Final (ladies' section) of the Sunday Tribune Golfsure Personal AllIreland Singles Competition at Westport Golf Club.
Aoife won the prize and the right to enter the Connacht Final with a nett 66 on the second day of the competition. Her 40-point total on Thursday then was six points ahead of the runner-up, Gort's Anne Marie Cradock (27) In the men's section, Tony Ruane (18), with 38 points, had two points to spare over Galway's Tom Keady (14).
Armagh's Tom Calvert (6) had a nightmare final hole as he three-putted from eight feet on the 18th green to hand victory to Holywood's James Mooney (10) in the Ulster Final. Both finished on 38 points but Mooney won on a count-back to the last three holes. They were a point further ahead of Scrabo's Mark Johnston (11) and Edenmore's Neil McDougall (18).
In the ladies' section of the final, Slieve Russell's Carol McEnroe (18), with 30 points, prevailed over Lurgan's Ray Gregg (18) and Moyola Park's Margaret O'Neill (34), who finished with 28 points apiece.
The All-Ireland final will be held over 72 holes (Pinta, Penina Championship, Morgado and Boavista) in the Algarve, Portugal (30 September to 7 October). The Hotel Tivoli Arade in Portimao in the Algarve will host the party. The full list of the provincial winners competing for the All-Ireland titles are as follows:

Golfsure Personal is a part of the Golfsure product range and is a major supporter of amateur golf in Ireland, sponsoring the Irish Close Amateur Championship and Senior Interprovincial.
No fee is requested from the participating players as Golfsure Personal donated 1 from every premium during 2006 to the Beaumont Hospital Foundation for the purchase of cancer treatment equipment. The tournament has raised over 250, 000 for the Foundation in the three years of its existence.
