FA PREMIERSHIP
SHEFFIELD UNITED 1
READING 2
READING claimed a first Premiership victory over Sheffield United in a pulsating match at Bramall Lane.
Kevin Doyle got Reading off to a lightning start, bursting through score after just 16 seconds. Doyle needed a minimum of touches to control Bobby Convey's ball over the top before firing a left-footed shot straight past Ian Bennett . . . an inauspicious start to his United debut.
The visitors dominated a flailing Blades side and Seol Ki-Hyeon made it 2-0 after 25 minutes. The Korean hammered home from Leroy Lita's neat lay-off to claim his first goal for the club.
United looked increasingly out of their depth against their fellow Premiership newcomers and retreated at half time to the sound of boos.
Neil Warnock must have had harsh words as United returned a transformed side.
However, despite contributing to an exhilirating second half, they could only muster the single response, Rob Hulse squeezing the ball in after 61 minutes, condemning them to a third frustrating defeat.
