AN exhibition of photographs by Paul Kearns, the Sunday Tribune's former correspondent in Israel, was opened in the Dublin Civic Offices on Wood Quay last week. Entitled 'Wall', the exhibition comprises 60 pictures of the security barrier erected by the Israelis in recent years.
These eight-metre high chunks of concrete have become important symbols to both sides of the conflict in the Middle East, and Kearns has done an extraordinary job in decoding much of what they mean to the participants.
The scale of the structure is overpowering at times, and yet the resilience of those who live in its shadow shines through.
