Injustice cannot be remedied by hatred
From Brian Rooney

RECENTLY, Gerry Adams laid a wreath at the grave of multimillionaire Yasser Arafat. One revolutionary leader paying tribute to the other.

In common, they ignored the wisdom of Cicero: "Liberty consists in the power of doing that which is permitted by law." They also disregarded the moral authority and wisdom of Pope John Paul II, who repeatedly stated that it is both unlawful and counterproductive to seek to remedy injustice by methods of terrorism, or by the ways of hatred and murder.

Brian Rooney, 14 The Heights, Downpatrick, Co Down.
