Potential returns from tee to green
June Edwards

WITH golfing fever all around us this weekend, strong interest is expected in the final phase of Highfield Lodges, an upmarket golfing scheme in Carbury, Co Kildare. The lodges which are Canadian cedarwood log cabins front onto Highfield Golf & Country Club.

Developed by Alan Duggan, who also runs the golf course, Highfield Lodges are designed for short-term or holiday use, and the scheme is largely aimed at the investor market.

And investors will be interested to know that these homes have Section 23 status, allowing capital allowances of over 95% of the purchase price, which can be offset against any Irish rental income.

The log cabins are spacious inside at 125sq m (1,345sq ft), and include three bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms.

Furnished and fitted out to Failte Ireland standard, all cabins come with doubleheight kitchen cum living rooms with natural stone fireplace, fully equipped kitchens and large decked verandas.

Price: three-bed log cabins from 455,000 Agent: Gunne New Homes 01-6185702
