IAN Woosnam, captain of Europe's winning team in the Ryder Cup, is also the designer behind the first ever golf, ski and investment development in Bulgaria, due for completion in November 2008. Imperial Golf Club is located on a 300-acre site near Bansko, at the foot of the Pirin Mountains in the Razlog Valley. That unique location offers the chance to play golf from April to November and then ski from December to March.
There are 139 apartments, from studios and one-bed apartments to four-bed apartments, and most with private terraces. The development also includes a panoramic restaurant, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, spa and wellness centre among a host of other amenities.
Imperial Build Limited, one of the developers of the project, will also manage the properties on completion and offer a guaranteed rental.
Prices start from 79,000 for a fully furnished studio, from 96,000 for a one-bed, and from 137,000 for a twobed. A small number of fourbeds start at 235,000.
Floor space in studios is 48sq m (including common areas) and up to 84sq m in the two-beds. Property values are predicted to rise to 2,000 per sq m when Bulgaria joints the EU next year.
Woosnam has given his professional seal of approval to the development. "Golf is in its early stages of development in Bulgaria and I am keen to be involved in helping develop the sport in the country. The backdrop to the Bansko site is spectacular and with mature pine trees and streams I envisage a rugged mountain look to the course."
