DUBLIN mobile phone services firm Zamano will announce this week that it expects to raise 20m to 25m in a flotation on London's Alternative Investment Market, sources close to the company said. The company plans to leverage its listing to fund acquisitions to fuel further growth.
Zamano provides premium-rate textmessage services, downloads, games and text -dating in Ireland, the UK and Australia and counts RTE, TV3, Setanta and Buy & Sell among its customers. The company had sales of about 10m last year. Zamano's key competitors include Irish firm Opera Telecom and AIM-listed, UK-based 2ergo.
Interest in mobile services was heightened this year when Rupert Murdoch acquired Jamba, the company that produced the Crazy Frog ringtone, for 150m. Opera Telecom is also active in the space. Earlier this week the company announced it would offer for download a dance track, 'Buzzin'', using the same sounds on an earlier ringtone, 'Mozzy', with frequencies adults can't hear.
Zamano shareholders include Enterprise Ireland and Quinlan Private Capital.
