McShane sees red as Albion survive late scare
Scott Ross

FA CHAMPIONSHIP WEST BROM 4 LEEDS UNITED 2

WICKLOWMAN Paul McShane was sent off as goals from Martin Albrechtsen and Kevin Phillips plus a Diomansy Kamara double gave 10-man West Brom a 42 victory over Leeds. Paul McShane saw red after conceding a first-half penalty which David Healy put wide.

The visitors were made to pay for their profligacy when Albrechtsen netted shortly before the interval ahead of second-half goals from Kamara and one from Phillips.

In the 32nd minute, Horsfield shook off marker McShane as he bore down on goal. They tangled inside the box, Styles awarded a penalty and dismissed the centre-back with a straight red card.

Five minutes before the break an unmarked Albrechtsen headed home a Jason Koumas corner to give West Brom the lead.

Kamara slid home unchallenged on 65 minutes and then set up Kevin Phillips to put the Baggies three up on 79 minutes. Horsfield and Stone got two goals back for Leeds before Kamara chipped Warner in injurytime to seal the win.
