Stately Dublin 4 home would be worth the work
Valerie Shanley

THIS tall, stately residence in the heart of Dublin 4's embassy belt has the Tudor front elevation mixed with classic redbrick that found favour with Edwardian builders at the turn of the last century. Although requiring upgrading, there is rich architectural material to work with throughout 251sq m (2,700sq ft) of space laid out in three storeys. Lansa House, on 68 Merrion Road, is opposite the Four Seasons Hotel and all amenities are within walking distance along some of the capital's most characteristic and historic terraces.

There is ample parking space for several cars to the front. The reception hall has a cloakroom and door to the side passage. Classic period features define the large drawing room . . . marble fireplace, stained, original timber floor, ceiling cornice and centre rose, picture rail. Sliding wooden doors lead to the dining room which is a mirror image of its neighbour. The large kitchen/ breakfast room is fully fitted with wall and floor units and an open, brick fireplace.

Outside, a separate 'garden' bedroom has fitted wardrobes, and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi.

Upstairs, the first two bedrooms are single and are adjacent to a shower room and separate WC. The four remaining bedrooms are doubles and all are en-suite.

The side area of the house provides additional parking and the private rear garden is 50ft.
