Quartermile puts the 'Eden' back inEdinburgh
Brenda McNally

A QUARTER of a mile from Edinburgh Castle, the aptly named and much-awaited regeneration project Quartermile has just been launched for sale through Colliers Jackson-Stops. Situated at the Old Royal Infirmary site in the city centre, this £400m urban renewal scheme will consist of 900 new homes, shops, businesses, cafes, a boutique hotel and a park when completed.

The redevelopment of the 19-acre world heritage site will consist of the restoration of the old buildings which housed the infirmary as well as new buildings.

Quartermile will comprise of a range of one-, two-, threeand four-bed apartments in new glass and steel towers or refurbished listed buildings.

Secure underground parking is available to purchase. Other services on offer include sevendays-a-week management presence, central help desk, lift maintenance, garden maintenance and window cleaning.

Around a third of Quartermile will be green space. Many apartments have full-width glass walls with great views.

Quatermile is close to both Haymarket and Waverley Stations and within walking distance of world-class shopping on the Royal Mile, Prince's Street and George Street.

Within the next 10 years, Quartermile will provide 10% of the commercial space required by Edinburgh.
