AIB LEAGUE DIVISION ONE UL BOHEMIAN 43 TERENURE COLLEGE 8
Thomond Park
UL BOHEMIAN almost made the knock-out stages last season but if the ruthless manner in which they dealt with Terenure College yesterday is a reliable yardstick, they'll certainly be there or thereabouts again this time round.
Terenure ran away with Division Two of the AIB League last season; yesterday they were given a rude awakening to top-flight life.
As early as the second minute James O'Neill forced his way over for a try that Tom Luke converted. Even though Brian Flanagan landed a Terenure penalty, it was oneway traffic as Martin McPhail showed his footballing craft with a two neatly-taken tries.
Bohs led 17-3 at half time and extended the lead shortly after the resumption when Mark Butler touched down.
Then it was the turn of number eight of O'Neill to touch down after a clever line-out gambit and again Martin added the points to stretch the lead to 31-3. Number eights O'Neill and Andy Dunlop exchanged tries before Ben Martin got a beauty for the home side and tapped over the conversion himself.
