Henry on target again
Jim van Wijk Emirates Stadium

FA PREMIERSHIP ARSENAL 3 WATFORD 0

ARSENAL made it four straight victories in the Premiership with an easy win over struggling Watford. An own goal from Jordan Stewart was followed by a classic Thierry Henry strike before Adabeyor completed a miserable day for Watford, who are still without a win in the Premiership.

England teenager Theo Walcott was handed his first start for Arsenal while captain Thierry Henry and Emmanuel Adebayor started in attack. Djourou replaced the injured Eboue in defence.

The first decent chance came after nine minutes and fell to Arsenal. Good work by Henry down the right saw the ball drop to Tomas Rosicky on the edge of the penalty area. His fierce drive was beaten away by Watford keeper Ben Foster, who then scrambled up to block Adebayor's goal-bound, angled cut-back.

The Gunners were soon on the attack again. A throughball from Walcott set Cesc Fabregas away behind the defence. The Spaniard rounded the advancing keeper, but his shot flew into the sidenetting.

Watford threatened through Francis and King but it was Arsenal who were on top and took the lead on 33 minutes. Fabregas' deep freekick was flicked on towards the far post by Adebayor, where, under pressure from Kolo Toure, the unfortunate Jordan Stewart glanced the ball past his own keeper.

Despite the lucky nature of the goal, the home side were good value for their lead.In the 40th minute, Henry skipped into space on the edge of the penalty area - and was just inches away from curling a low shot into the far corner. But the brilliant Frenchman made it 2-0 a couple of minutes later.

Henry held off the overclose attentions of Jay Demerit to latch onto a flick from Adebayor. Once the Arsenal captain was clear and in full flight, there was no stopping him, as he confidently stroked home a fourth goal of the season.

The second hald saw Arsenal continue to dominate and Foster tipped Rosicky's shot around his right-hand post at full stretch. Henry then showed some quick thinking to unselfishly set up Adebayor for a tap-in on 67 minutes.

Fabregas' perfectly-timed pass released the Arsenal captain down the right channel. Henry drew the keeper before sliding the ball ahead into the path of Adebayor, who slotted into an empty net.
