The Old Man and the Sea (1952) By Ernest Hemingway Cuba was like a magnet to Hemingway and Havana is awash with references to him, from bars where he drank to places where he stayed. About 10 miles outside the city you'll find Watchtower Farm (it's now a museum), which is where Hemingway wrote this novella with its story of the fisherman Santiago as he fishes the Gulf Stream here
