IRISHmusicians Doug Banville and Peter Cheevers recently launched 247guitar. com, an Irish online retailer of music equipment from manufacturers including Yamaha, Gibson, Marshall and Fender (the late Rory Gallagher's, right, favourite). The pair say they noted that German retailers made up nearly 20% of the Irish market for music equipment and spotted an opportunity.
Since the launch the pair have been amazed to discover that, despite the lack of any advertising, 60% of the website's sales have come from the UK.
