And here are all the Gorey details. . .
Brenda McNally

CLOSE to the station and regular trains to Dublin, but far from the madding crowd, Station Court in Gorey offers a wide choice of homes in an up-and-coming commuter location in the sunny south-east. The first phase of 38 units has just been launched and with prices starting from 250,000, demand is expected to be brisk. Show apartments have also been launched for the first time.

Situated on The Avenue in Gorey, Co Wexford, just opposite the train station, Station Court has a good mix of apartments, duplex units and townhouses set around an attractive central green. The design features a mix of traditional style housing and modern apartment building which is aimed at encouraging a community and familyfriendly atmosphere. Station Court will also have an on-site creche.

A small development of 85 units, this phase sees the release of a mix of two and three-bed apartments and threebed duplex townhouses. These are good sized units with two-bed apartments spanning 78sq m (840sq ft), three-bed apartments spanning 96sq m (1,030sq ft) and three-bed duplex townhouses spanning 116sq m (1,245sq ft).

Residents at Station Court will have everything on hand. As well as the train station with regular service to and from Dublin city centre, as well as Enniscorthy, Wexford Town and Rosslare, the development is just off the main street, with its shops, restaurants and bars.

Currently under construction, the new Gorey town centre will further enhance demand at the development from investors as well as home-buyers and the holiday home market, according to the agents, Hooke & MacDonald.

Located across the road from Station Court, when complete, the new town centre will comprise 11,000sq m of space, to include 19 retail units, a medical centre, restaurants, a creche and offices. Dunnes Stores has been secured as the anchor tenant and with floor space of over 8,000sq m, this will be its largest store in the entire south-east region.

Work is progressing very well on the Gorey bypass and completion is due for late 2007 (currently work is ahead of schedule). The bypass will not only ease traffic congestion in the town, but will also have a significant impact on reducing journey times to Dublin.

Price: two-bed apartments from 250,000 Agent: Hooke & MacDonald 01-631 8402
