Two killed in Co Down crash
TWO men died early yesterday following an accident involving three cars in Newry, Co Down.
The accident happened on the Dublin Road and one of the vehicles was a taxi.
One man died at the scene; the other died shortly after in hospital.
Three others were injured. Several people stopped at the scene and police are appealing to them to come forward.
Major drug dealer arrested
A 30-YEAR-OLD man who gardai believe is one of the country's biggest drug dealers was arrested in Holland early yesterday morning. The man, leader of one of the Drimnagh gangs whose feud has so far cost eight lives, is also believed to be behind the importation of the largest quantity of heroin in the history of the state.
Garda van rammed
SIX gardai were injured in Dublin when the van they were travelling in was rammed at speed by another car late on Friday night, it emerged yesterday. The gardai were treated for minor injures while the 20-yearold male driver of the car was yesterday recovering in hospital.
6,000 watch attack video
OVER 6,000 people have downloaded film footage of a Dublin schoolgirl being kicked in the face during a 'happy slapping' attack. The 15-year-old's father yesterday appealed to website YouTube to take down the footage, shot from a mobile phone.
The girl sustained serious injuries to her face and arm after being attacked by a male youth in Ballymun earlier this year.
