Shaws 2.15/300g Oats dominate this pudding, giving it a speckled look and extra chewy texture. Not everyone liked the volume of cereal but all agreed that the flavour is good. The subtle pork taste is pleasant too.
*** Tesco Finest 1.89/330g The presence of onions lends an unexpected sweetness to this fat pudding. Some found it to be too sweet but the tasters commended its moist texture and subtle spicing. Unusually, this is a pork-free pudding with beef fat the main ingredient.
*** Denny 1.20/200g This thin pudding is extra dense in texture. Rich tasting with good bite it holds together well when cooked. Nicely peppery with full flavour, this was the favourite by a margin.
**** Galtee 1.19/200g Another thin pudding, it's very dark in colour and tastes closer to a pork sausage than a blood pudding. Surprisingly chewy, it lacked character and tasters felt the flavour needs to be improved.
