Man's body found in Co Limerick
GARDAI are investigating following the discovery of a man's body in Croom, Co Limerick, yesterday. The man, believed to be in his 60s, was found dead outside a house on St Senan's Terrace at 7.30am.
The body appeared to have received a number of injuries.
Meanwhile, four youths were arrested following a shooting incident in Carew Park, Limerick on Friday night. The four teenagers fled after shots were fired and were arrested following a highspeed pursuit by gardai.
M3 protesters march on Navan
A CROWD of 1,000 marched through Navan, Co Meath yesterday to protest against ongoing work on the M3 motorway near the Hill of Tara, An Bord Pleanala approved the route in 2003, but work was delayed by a High Court challenge. Work on the site began earlier this year, and is expected to finish in January.
Man killed in Co Carlow crash
AN 81-YEAR-OLD man was killed when his car collided with another vehicle in Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow on Friday, bringing to 311 the number of people killed on the state's roads this year.
Man survives gun attack
A MAN survived a gun attack early yesterday morning after the weapon jammed, according to a PSNI spokesperson.
The gunman approached a group of youths in Coleraine, Derry, and pointed a gun at one of the youths, but the weapon failed to fire. A sectarian motive is being investigated.
