It would seem that every Tom, Dick and Harry out there in the corporate world wants to be linked to Irish rugby these days and the latest to sign a sponsorship deal with the IRFU are Wolf Blass, who have become, wait for it, the official wine to the Irish Rugby team. Now why the Irish team need an official wine is slightly beyond us . . . they already have Guinness as their of"cial beer and an of"cial spirit in Bushmills . . .but maybe the rugby player of today has more discerning tastes after a tough 80 minutes on the pitch.
Anyway, all the best to the Wolf Blass people. As we've already said, it's a sign of healthy times if a wine company wants to be linked with the IRFU.
