Clontarf prove too strong for Dolphin

CLONTARF proved too strong and too good for a gallant Dolphin side at a windswept and wet Musgrave Park Yesterday.

The home side trailed 6-7 at the break. Clontarf 's only score in the first half was a converted try from John Duffy in the 10th minute.

Barry Keeshan kept the home side in touch with two penalties.

Nethery made it 10-6 to the visitors before super-sub Bernard Jackson sealed the win with a pushover try.

Keeshan replied with a late penalty that he thought had earned his side a bonus point, but deep into stoppage time Matt Nethery broke the home side's hearts with a late penalty to leave it 9-18 at the end.
