A TRIO of Irish online entrepreneurs will demonstrate their internet businesses to over 1,000 delegates at the International Web Expo in Paris this week.
Walter Higgins from Sxoop Technologies, Joe Drumgoole from Putplace. com and Conor O'Neill of Loudervoice. com are all due to present at the event, which is expected to draw an attendance of over 1,000 web entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.
The three Irish companies specialise in technology that makes it easier for people to locate, store and publish their own content on the internet.
Pictures, videos and writing produced by users rather than professional media outlets are a key tenet of what has come to be known as Web 2.0, a movement encapsulated by social networking websites such as Myspace and Bebo.
"Demoing at LeWeb is going to be very exciting because the cream of European entrepreneurs and venture capitalists will be there, " said Sxoop's Walter Higgins.
Sxoop will demonstrate its Pixenate product, an online photo editor.
Putplace. com founder Joe Drumgoole will present his internet-based storage service, which allows users to back-up photos, video and music content from their phones, computers and laptops online.
O'Neill, meanwhile, will be showcasing his soon-to-be launched Loudervoice. com, a website which promises to collate disparate content from blogs, and online community sites to make it easier for users to find material which is relevant to them.
