ACCORDING to the blurb inside Ms Lawson's excellent How to Be a Domestic Goddess, "this deliciously reassuring and mouth-watering cookbook demonstrates is that it's not actually hard to bake a tray of muffins or a sponge layer cake, but that the appreciation and satisfaction they bring are disproportionately high". Good Taste couldn't agree more and reckons Nigella's recipes deliver great results every time.
Start simple with banana bread or tray bakes before moving on to crumbly tarts, sticky puddings and dainty biscuits. There are breads and savoury pies too and a great section full of Christmas treats. If your new year's resolution is to get back in the kitchen this is the ideal companion to guide your way.
