OSPREYS MAKE LIGHT WORK OF ITALIANS

The Ospreys ran in eight tries to seal a 50-27 win in their Heineken Cup pool three tie away to Calvisano.

Shane Williams and Justin Marshall scored two tries each while Huw Bennett, James Hook, Sonny Parker and Lee Byrne ran in the rest as the Ospreys eased to a comfortable win at the Stadio Comunale San Michele.

In pool six, Border Reivers' hopes of kick-starting their Heineken Cup qualification bid were snuffed out by Biarritz who galloped to an easy 25-0 win in Scotland.

The breakthrough came in the sixth minute through powerful lock David Couzinet and further tries from winger Jean-Baptiste Gobelet, Damian Traille and Immanol Harinordoquy made the win look easy. In the same group, Northampton, meanwhile, cruised to a massive 68-21 win over Parma.
