Crowd attacks police in Derry



TWO people were injured and nine arrests were made in Derry city early yesterday after a crowd began throwing bottles at police. One PSNI officer was injured when a bottle struck his head and a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with minor head injuries. Nine men were arrested in connection with the incident. Police said eight of the arrests were made after a crowd of 30 to 40 people in their late teens or early 20s attacked police in the Shipquay St area at about 2am.
