Four seal pups rescued from Irish waters will begin their new year back in the wild.
The Irish Seal Sanctuary released two pups in Greystones, Co Wicklow yesterday and will release two more in Wexford tomorrow. It has been a particularly busy season for the sanctuary, which has found itself overwhelmed with sick or injured seals following several storms on the east coast of the country. The sanctuary is appealing to the public to keep an eye out for paint-marked seals like those released yesterday.
