Dublin hurlers concluded their season in fine style against the cream of the county's clubmen at Portmarnock yesterday as they beat the Blue Stars by 2-19 to 0-10. Dublin manager Tommy Naughton was well pleased with the display as his squad prepare to fly out of Austria for a week's holiday.
Newcomer Declan Qualter of St Vincent's impressed at centre forward and Emmet Carroll also made a worthy return to the county jersey. In excellent conditions, Dublin led by 0-9 to 0-2 at the break following a very competitive opening period.
But Dublin totally dominated on the restart and Peader Carton nipped in for their opening goal three minutes into the second period. Keith Dunne drilled in the second on 44 minutes. Showing some neat touches for the Stars was the dual performer David O'Callaghan who scored a tidy point.
