TRIED & TASTED EARL GREY TEA
Jillian Bolger

Ministry of Tea Organic Herbal Earl Grey 2.60/20 bags Unless you read the small print you'll be surprised to find this is a South African Rooibos tea with bergamot oil added.

Traditionalists will miss the dry finish of this normally black tea and will find the bergamot too subtle.

Misleading and disappointing.

*

Robt Roberts Earl Grey 2.19/40 bags Adark red tea with a fresh citrus nose and rich floral taste. Nice body, smooth to drink and really refreshing. Our definite favourite.

*****

Twinings Aromatics Earl Grey 2.75/50 bags Deep red with an appealing fragrance. A perfect balance of bergamot and intense black tea, delivering a rich, complex flavour. Very tasty.

****

Twinings Aromatics Decaffeinated Earl Grey 3.05/50 bags Golden in colour, the promising aromas don't deliver on flavour. By removing the caffeine they seem to have taken away Earl Grey's crisp lingering finish. Not nearly as satisfying as its caffeinated counterpart.
