With its close proximity to the city centre and choice of affordable ex-military and ex-corporation houses for under �?�430,000 it has much to offer first-time buyers. Where is it?
A stone's throw from Phibsborough and the Phoenix Park on the northside of Dublin city, Cabra stretches from from the Phibsborough Road to the Navan Road and back towards Finglas.
Average house prices:
Divided into old or East Cabra and West Cabra, house prices start at around Euro375,000 for a two-bed rising to between Euro400,000 and Euro420,000 depending on condition for a three-bed with premium prices being achieved for houses in old Cabra, according to Laura Grace, selling agent with Savills Hamilton Osborne King, Phibsborough. "Typically houses in Quarry Road and Leix Road sell for around Euro420,000 to Euro430,000." Popular streets in old Cabra include Quarry Road, Leix Road, Faussagh Road and all around the Christ the King Church. In west Cabra, Dowth Road, Dunmanus Road and Ratoath Road are also sought after according to agents.
