If I weren't talking to you right now I'd be. . .
Cooking something. I'm pretty hungry at the moment. I like to cook.
A phrase I use far too often is. . .
"I think it resonates with me." I've used that one quite a lot the past few days. Or "That's as cool as a bald-headed snowman."
I wish people would take more notice of . . .
President Bush. He's a scary man. He scares me, especially how he handled the whole New Orleans thing.
The most surprising thing that ever happened to me was. . .
Finding myself on Broadway. Not just walking down the street, but being there working. I never saw that happening.
To have your name in lights on Broadway - whoo!
A common misperception of me is. . .
That I smile a lot.
I'm not a politician but. . .
I think there should be more holidays. We should abolish Mondays and go straight into Tuesdays.
I'm good at. . .
Joined up writing, omelettes and dreaming.
But I'm very bad at. . .
Spelling. My timekeeping could be a lot better.
The ideal night out is. . .
Spending it with family and friends - then getting a phone call later on from an old friend.
In moments of weakness I eat chocolate and hopefully have the right answer at the end of the bar.
You know me as a musician but in a truer life I'd have been a. . .
Chef. I love food. I love having friends round and sitting round the table.
On my new album. . .
For me, it's been the record I've always wanted to make. It took me the best part of two years. I'm playing at Ronnie Scotts for three nights in February. For those nights, it will be called Bonnie Scots.
On Wet Wet Wet. . .
We have a new album. It's brilliant. I love those guys to bits. I love what they're doing with the music.
