SOUTH AFRICA TROUBLED BY EARLY WICKET LOSS

South Africa lost an early wicket as they began their chase of Pakistan's lead on day two of the second test in Port Elizabeth yesterday.

Proteas captain Graeme Smith managed just 10 runs before he was caught by Inzamam-ul-Haq off Mohammad Asif early in their second innings.

His dismissal left South Africa struggling on 25 for one at tea as they looked to overtake the 141run lead set by their opponents.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan put up strong resistance as they reached 265 all out.
