A final tally of 2-5 from Derry attacker Paddy Bradley ensured the class of 2005 held sway in the Vodafone All Stars exhibition clash at the Dubai Polo Grounds yesterday. The 2006 team lost out by 4-13 to 3-10.
Bradley scored 1-3 before the break and helped to cancel out Seamus Moynihan's 23rd-minute goal for the 2006 team to leave the teams tied at 1-7 at the interval.
However, Mickey Harte's team pulled away in the second half of what was one of the more competitive All-Star encounters of recent years.
Although Alan Brogan and James Masters added goal strikes for the '06 selection, second-half goals from Seán Cavanagh (2) and another from Bradley allowed the '05 team to run out six-point winners.
The game marked the last top-level outing for Peter Canavan, Seamus Moynihan and Mike McCarthy who have all retired from the intercounty scene.
