Sublime showing makes for a 20-length victory under Carberry
Claire Barry

SUBLIMITY was the star of the show at Navan yesterday when turning on the style under Philip Carberry to land the Navan Golf Club Open For Membership Hurdle as a long odds-on favourite should by the margin of 20 lengths.

John Carr's gelding is now a 50/1 chance with Cashmans for the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham. Carr said "He had to win like that for us to be thinking about Cheltenham. We had been considering the County Hurdle for him but I think he would have too much weight."

"He won't run again now until Cheltenham. He goes well when fresh, but the reason he hasn't run until now is that he had a touch of the virus at Christmas."

Robert Tyner continued his good run of success thanks to the Barry Geraghty-ridden Callherwhatulike who made the long journey from Kinsale worthwhile with a well-deserved victory in the Design Maiden Hurdle.

The Old Vic mare also has a point-to-point and bumper win under her belt.
