Shelbourne scores in acquisition of Cable & Wireless Tallaght site
COMMERCIAL PROPERTY Kieran Flynn

SHELBOURNE Development has acquired the Cable & Wireless property and site located at the junction of the Belgard Road and Airton Road in Tallaght. A leaseback arrangement will see the facility continue to be occupied by telecommunications group Cable & Wireless (Ireland) Limited for up to three years.

The facility comprises a 1980s-built two-storey office building and a separate warehouse. The site extends to approximately 1.15 hectares (2.83 acres). With excellent transport links, this property is well positioned for extensive redevelopment, possibly as state-of-the-art suburban offices.

Located on the east side of the Belgard Road, the facility is close to the rapidly expanding Tallaght Town Centre. It benefits from a high degree of prominence onto the Belgard Road with approximately 130 metres of frontage, and return frontage onto Airton Road of almost 100 metres.

Belgard Retail Park is located opposite the facility.

Robert Murphy of CB Richard Ellis acted for Shelbourne Development in the Cable & Wireless acquisition, while Vincent Taylor of Doherty Baines in London acted on behalf of Cable & Wireless.

Shelbourne Development has already made a contributionto the development of the Tallaght Town Centre area with the multi-purpose Belgard Square development.
