Gardaí probe Dublin shooting

GARDAÍ have launched a murder investigation after the second ganglandstyle killing in Dublin in 10 days. The victim, named locally as Tom McDonagh (28) was shot once in the head and twice in the chest by a lone gunman outside his home in Ronanstown, west Dublin just after 9.30pm on Friday night.

The victim, a father of a two-year-old boy, was pronounced dead on arrival at Tallaght Hospital. The gunman escaped on foot in the direction of St Mark's Avenue. McDonagh, who is reported to have been a settled traveller, had been living at the house with his girlfriend for two years.
