In fact, according to recent research carried out in Britain by the Academy of General Dentistry, as many as ninety-six per cent of people regard a smile as 'very important to someone's overall appearance.' Even our history books tell us that centuries ago, servants were hired on the strength of their teeth because healthy teeth were a sign of vitality and good, strong bones.

So it's fair to say that an unattractive smile displaying gaping holes, uneven or stained teeth can probably restrict a person's chances of career success, and badly damage their self esteem.

That makes sense when you consider that the very things we flash to the opposite sex at moments of flirtation; things that define the contours of our mouth and are supposed to accentuate our faces can sometimes be the very things that let us down.
