GAELIC GAMES PREVIEWS

(All games 1.30 unless stated) NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE - DIVISION 1A DONEGAL v MAYO Ballybofey Referee J McQuillan (Cavan) Easily the game of the day, with both teams coming off huge wins over Munster's finest last week. Kevin Cassidy went well in midfield last week but he'll still welcome the return of Neil Gallagher alongside him with Pat Harte and David Brady in that neighbourhood today. It will also be a good gauge of James Kilcullen's prospects as a full-back, as he takes up Brendan Devenney.

It'll be tight but if Donegal are to beat Armagh in Ballybofey this summer, this is the kind of game they must target.

Verdict Donegal DIVISION 1B DOWN v KILDARE Newcastle Referee J Curley (Meath) The kind of game Down must win if they're to avoid Division Three, let alone Division Two. As porous as they are at the back, Ross Carr will surely have some plan to hold John Doyle to "ve or six points.

Verdict Down DERRY vWESTMEATH Celtic Park Referee C Reynolds (Down) Two more teams who had huge wins last week, each beating the secondbest team in Connacht and Leinster.

Like so many league games though, home advantage should be decisive.

Verdict Derry ARMAGH v LOUTH Crossmaglen Referee J Bannon (Longford) Louth will fancy their chances here;

they have a lot of scoring power while Armagh start with only three of the team that won the 2002 All Ireland and just "ve of the team that won Ulster 2006. A test of Armagh's depth and of Louth's credentials.

Verdict Draw DIVISION 2A OFFALY v CARLOW Tullamore Referee E Kinsella (Laois) Offaly slipped up last week, and the last time these sides met. Not today.

Verdict Offaly CLARE v LEITRIM Cusack Park Referee P McGovern (Galway) Páidí's first real test as well as his first home game. He seems to be settling in well down in the Banner after a shaky start, and now has Denis as well as David Russell on board. Leitrim are a gritty side though that might rarely win by more than a goal but won't lose by more than a goal either. Close game in store but? Verdict Leitrim LONDON v ROSCOMMON Ruislip Referee P Mullan (Antrim) There was only a point in it when these counties last met here. There'll be a lot more today.

Verdict Roscommon DIVISION 2B WEXFORD v TIPPERARY Wexford Park Referee G McKenny (Louth) Tipp are an ambitious team on the rise. Are Wexford in decline? Is this where their graphs intersect? Maybe not quite yet.

VerdictWexford SLIGO vWATERFORD Markievicz Park Referee R O'Donnell (Donegal) Waterford have impressively built on their shock win in this corresponding fixture last year but Sligo have progressed too, at a rate which should seal a win today.

Verdict Sligo ALL IRELAND CLUB SHC SEMI-FINAL LOUGHREA (Galway) v CUSHENDALL (Antrim) Cusack Park, Mullingar, 1.00 Referee B Kelly (Westmeath) Cushendall have a track record in this competition, they have Michael McCambridge back, and there's a history of upsets at this venue, with Mount Sion falling to Dunloy here four years ago. Loughrea though have the superior talent, and being mindful of how their old friends Portumna slipped up to Dunloy in 2004, they'll bring the necessary attitude too.

Verdict Loughrea
