RED CIRCLE, an Irish company specialising in mobile content, has launched a new business venture in Australia named Oztonez.
Based in Dublin, Red Circle is a provider of cutting edge mobile media content, and over the last number of years has gained a considerable market share in the UK and Europe.
Citing the launch in the Australian market as a natural progression, Red Circle will aim its services, content and technical expertise to 20m mobile subscribers.
Since its establishment in 1999, Red Circle has predominantly targeted the youth market. It recently opened smaller offices in London, Spain and the Philippines.
Chief operations officer Cathal Fay said the company is ready for the Australian market.
"Our primary target area is a young mobile user between 18 and 35. We will follow a similar development path to the UK and intend to grow our Australian business to a comparable size of our UK business - where we are No1 in our sector."
Fay said the company will continue to operate out of Dublin but will set up a local office when necessary.
"As we have not got a local office, our main setting up costs are advertising and the amounts paid to the local network operators: Optus, Telstra and Vodafone. We hope to generate revenues comparable to our UK market."
