ARSENAL face another Cup replay after being denied what looked a cast-iron penalty 13 minutes from the end of their fifth-round clash with Blackburn, before Brad Friedel produced a string of late saves to keep the tie goalless.

It was hard to understand why referee Martin Atkinson did not point to the spot when Stephen Warnock seemed to clearly trip Jeremie Aliadiere.

Arsenal dominated the game but, after an early miss by the ineffective Thierry Henry, they barely generated even a half-chance - until the final few minutes when Friedel threw himself at a couple of efforts from Henry and Justin Hoyte.

Blackburn earned a replay that adds to both teams' already overcrowded fixture lists with a determined defensive display.
