Ford family still motoring after 70 years

A NEW 2m state-of-the-art showroom was officially opened last week by Rialto Motors, the well known Dublin Ford dealership, at the company's site at Herberton Road in Rialto.

The company has been in the motor business for 70 years. It is now one of the country's largest Ford car dealerships and is the leading provider of Ford commercial vehicles.

The company was founded by the late Michael O'Neill and is now run by his sons, Frank and Tom O'Neill, who are directors at Rialto. Their brother, Michael junior, is director of the company's branch at Newcastle, Co Dublin.

Dealer principal Tom O'Neill said: "Our new showrooms could not have come at a better time as the sales of Ford cars have risen by 17% for the first month of 2007.

Eddie Murphy, chairman and managing director of Ford Ireland, attended the opening ceremony.
