NICE of RTE to facilitate the wife of the PD leader on its Saturday morning Conservations with Eamon Dunphy radio programme last weekend. Niamh Brennan featured in the high-profile slot just hours before the national broadcaster provided several hours of live television time to the PD conference in Wexford. The 21 years since the foundation of the PDs have been "wonderful fun", Brennan told Dunphy. The UCD academic would be a worthy guest at another time, but her presence at this stage in the electoral cycle surely makes a mockery of RTE's imposition of interview restrictions to ensure balance and proportionate airtime between the different political groupings. Didn't hear Mrs Sargent yesterday morning, but can't wait for Mrs Adams next weekend.
