The Navara was awarded the Commercial SUV of the Year and the Astravan took the Car Derived Van of the Year.

The awards were presented to Paul O'Sullivan, marketing director of Nissan Ireland, and Emily Holland, marketing manager of Opel Ireland, by Semperit chief Paddy Murphy.

The vans got the top vote from the Van Jury of the Irish Motoring Writers' Association.

This is the fist year that the IMWA introduced these categories into the Irish Van of the Year Awards. They will be of particular interest to van/commercial drivers and fleet managers as they highlight the niche models that have won the approval of the jury.
